Collection: Revolution Tea

Our wonderful selection of Revolution Tea

When we started English Bruw we wanted to work with the best and sell the best quality teas we could find. Initially, we thought it would be best to approach tea growers direct and start our own brand and look to take over the tea world. Whilst this is an idea that appeals it didn't make great commercial sense for a new start up company.

Our research into teas and suppliers lead us to revolution. We liked their ethics, agreed with their vision and LOVED their products! This partnership was a no brainer for us and we are proud to sell their teas.

So what makes Revolution Tea so different?

This was a vital question we asked at the early stages of negotiation. The reply from this fab tea company was what sealed the deal for us. This remarkable tea company were pioneers in the tea bag industry and were the first company to use infuser tea bags. These innovative little bags allow the whole leaf tea to luxuriate in the hot water and the full aromas and flavours to be released. These unique single serve infuser tea bags are actually more like a sachet than a traditional bag. The pyramid shape allows the water to flow through.

This was the start of a mini-revolt in tea and these remarkable little tea bags have become common amongst all premium teas now.

The traditional tea bags were actually adopted by mistake when a tea merchant wanted to sell his tea bags in a convenient package rather than in the larger, more costly tins. He used silk sacks to pop the loose leaf tea in but people were confused by this and thought they had to drop the bag into the teapot and a modern convenience was born.

This seems like a great idea at the time but the reality was different when it came to flavour and quality. You see full leaf tea needs room to expand so it can release its full flavour. These tea bags restricted that as there was little to no room for the poor leaves. So smaller leaves were then used and this lead to a drop in quality of the tea inside. The tea bags then were changed to paper from silk in a bid to lower costs and quality even more.

Subsequently, dust and tiny particles of cut tea called fannings are now used in the traditional tea bags. This is why the quality of mass-produced tea is generally poor. When you mix low grade paper bags with low-quality tea and dust from the bottom of the tea barrel you can see why most people have never actually experienced what a GREAT cup of tea is actually like.

But it isn't all about an infuser tea bag. They wanted to create a stir in the market and change peoples perception of tea and what it meant to have such an amazing drink. Revolution wants to source only full-leaf premium teas which are the least processed of all tea and to occasionally mix them with real fruit pieces, selected high-grade herbs, all natural flavours, and the finest essential oils.

Their teas really are superb and we highly recommend you buy one of the special sample packs to experience the Tea Revolution for yourself.

We sell their range of 20 different teas from English Breakfast Tea to Revolution Organic Green Tea, so there is something for everyone. The superb range of green tea include the delicious orange chocolate green tea to the sublime organic green tea.

Finally what we considered the most important aspect was the taste and after taste of these teas. In many of the tea samples we tried, we experienced bitterness and a funny aftertaste. This was due to inferior ingredients and a lack of true love for the tea. This companies teas were delicious in every way and despite us trying to find a fault we were unable to!

We truly are proud to be part of their revolution!

People often say to us that they regularly used to type "where can I buy revolution tea" and they were so pleased to have found us as a resource for these fantastic little bags of pleasure.

Some of the biggest sellers are the Revolution Organic Green Tea, the Revolution English Breakfast Black Tea and the Revolution White Pear Tea. However, we love them all and think you will too!
